Quark v 4.1 (desktop publishing software company) - the latest file versions it will import directly are WordPerfect 6.x files - will not import WordPerfect 2000 files directly Early in October 2001 I called Quark (desktop publishing software company) to explore purchasing Quark as an educational consultant to publish work I had been doing in WordPerfect Office 2000. I specifically asked the educational customer service rep if I could import WordPerfect files. She (Karlin?) told me that Quark did import WordPerfect files.
Last night, I loaded Quark 4.1 on my computer, and decided to get some advance work done on a large revision project. Quark will not import (get text) my WordPerfect 2000 files. The latest versions is will import are WordPerfect 6.x files. That version is over 6 years old!
Quark Tech Support and Lynn Zuver, a customer service manager, told me to save my WordPerfect Office 2000 files as 6.X files and then import them into Quark. I have over a thousand files! That is not a tenable solution.
Quark will not refund even half of my money. They say that because I installed Quark on my computer (last night), they will not take back the software.
However, until I had installed Quark and tried to import my WordPerfect 2000 files, I did not, nor could I have known, that Quark will not import WordPerfect files past 6.X.
Quark has ripped me off! Margaret
