Dermatology Associates, PA, Moorestown, New Jersey - rude service, poor business practices concerning insurance and new customers I scheduled an appointment with them weeks ago. They told me they didn't take my insurance. I made the appointment anyway. I called a few hours later to cancel the appointment and was told that they DID MOST CERTAINLY take my insurance. The person who answered the phone assured me that they most definitely did take my insurance and that she would make sure that everyone in the office knew that they took my insurance. I arrived this morning, March 18th, 2002, for my appointment (arriving early for my 7:30 a.m. appointment) and was told that they didn't take my insurance.
They were very rude and told me that I must be mistaken about talking to the person who assured me that they took my insurance. They treated me like a stupid teenager and talked down to me. They didn't want to cancel my appointment but agreed that I could be responsible for the payment of the appointment ($68 - $100+). They wanted me to sign an agreement to same and they would try to submit it to my insurance company.
But the bottom line was I was wrong and they were right and I still would be held responsible for the payment of the medical bill. Again they talked down to me and wouldn't get anyone with authority to speak with me. I left. It wasn't worth it to me to even stay especially in light of the way they treat new patients. I hope they treat they established patients better. I would have you e-mail this to them, but I don't have their e-mail address.
