MedPlan - paid for benefits package, but did not receive it yet - unhappy with customer service

This Company is disgusting. I thought my situation was an isolated event. It appears to be the norm. Here is my story .. I wrote the following to this company. 12/11/2001 Manager Marketing/Customer Relations MedPlan Inc.

Albany, NY

12206-1392 Dear Sir/Madam, Re: Refund Of $349.00 After contacting your customer service through 800-339-0247 I spoke with your Customer Representative - Dalia Dobilas concerning the following. On October 23,2001I was contacted by a customer representative from MedPlan concerning its discount healthcare benefits. The customer representative explained your services and indicated that he needed some financial information from me concerning my bank account.

I was very uncomfortable sharing this information and told him that I was not interested in the service if I had to provide this information for payment to be made up-front. After this the phone conversation was ended. Within ten minutes, I received a phone call from another representative who wanted to clarify the information that was given to me by the first representative. He indicated that: Information on my checking account was needed, since it was one of the preferred methods of payment.

The benefit package will take at least 2 Weeks to arrive.

The amount of $349.00 will not be taken out until the trial period of 30dys AFTER the arrival of the benefit package.

With the above assurance given, I decided to try the service. What actually happened was: An amount of $349.00 was withdrawn from my account on the day we spoke!!

The benefit package never arrived

The reality is that there was misrepresentation by the customer service representative that I think is unfortunate. For this reason I wanted my money refunded. Today 12/11/2001 at 2:50pm, your customer service representative Ms Dalia Dobilas indicated that I will be refunded the $349.00 in February!!(Nearly Three Months). I consider this a long time period, since it only took one day for my money to be withdrawn. I hope that you company make an effort to record the "ENTIRE" conversation between your customer service representative and potential clients to prevent them from making false and misleading statements. I will appreciate a prompt refund of my money. ____________________ CC: Manager Accounts Receivable I made several contact by phone, the last thing I was told was that there system had a virus and could not be accessed. I believe that I am being Jerked around. I will appreciate your help in getting this posted. Lennox ... Maryland
