sears, winston salem, N.C. - compaq computer - trouble getting rebate

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on March 12, 2002:

sears, winston salem, N.C. - compaq computer - trouble getting rebate

this is about a computer a bought apx 2 1/ to 3 yrs back, they had a rebate for like so many hrs to sign with GTE.. I declined, computer mesed up couldn't get Dvd to work after they came and worked on it serveral times I took it back, will what I paid for it had dropped apx 200.$ + so this time I get another but no dvd was a 400 amd ans was able to get a monitor with the left over..

they advertised 150.00 rebate I beleive if you bought both, fill all paper sent copy of sales and all upc numbers even regestreesd on line.. to this day I haven't gotten it I have spent a lot of money on phone calls ect sears saying they would look into it ect..

still nothing even call compaq no good there either,this sears was in hanes mall of winston salem N.C., then buy a returned saw told them I wouldn't usedit for apx 9 to 10 mnths later well work all of 10 mins, and they wouldn't replace and said they didn't have a copy of envoice either,, same with a weed eater bought in winter there good deal, cranked it one time well the shaft doesn't spin it broked or never hook up,now this one is in lexington, N.C. the sales man said it ran out of warrenty but it hadn't when I call them and still how long was it used before I bought it >???

well then we bought washer and dryer and refrieg, from sears in winston, waited for rebate no good keep complaning finally knocked off the rebate on the bill, said they would check into my computer , still no reply I have called and talked to some many people there who were supposed to be supervisiors and all well I finally bought my last item a tv from them and a dvd player player got to take it back won't play half the time and heck we just paid them off and torn up the card..

looks like if I had a customber that spent that kind of money there and have for years they would try and keep them but hey I found out I can always get it some wheres else..thanks for hearing me out my name Karl Weaver,
