RE: Whirlpool - purchased washing machine in April, 2003 - it broke and was returned - replacement machine broke also On April 04, 2003 we purchased a brand new Whirlpool washing machine. Seven days later we had to have it repaired by an authorized service representative (the tumbler went out of alignment). One week later(April
19th) after service, the machine stopped working altogether. We took it back to the vendor and was given a brand new Whirlpool washer in return. One month later, the new washer stopped working.
The same authorized service center came to the house to repair it (supposedly) under warranty. To our surprise, the dealer said that the trouble was due to a rodent that had eaten through the hose. He replaced the hose, the level switch and charged us $80.00 stating that the damage was not warranty related. I called Customer Service who referred me to their representative for our region whom in turn referred us to our area service rep. All in all, after several phone calls and transfers, I was told that the local service rep was correct in charging us $80. because the insurance did not cover rodent damage. My machine is only one and one-half months old - why should I pay for repair. What guarantees do I have that the rodent did not get into the machine at the warehouse. I want satisfaction. Sincerely, Emilia Badillo
