RE: MCI - The Neighborhood Plan - didn't initially get voicemail as expected - trouble with plan signup

Be careful when you order the Neighborhood plan ~ it sounds great but they played games with us. For a company trying to sell their telephone services they don't keep track of things. We had signed up for it over the internet and they said our service would change over in about three weeks. Four weeks came and gone so we called ~ they didn't have any of our information because they seemed to have "lost" the registration information. We ended up waiting another four weeks for service after calling and asking what the hold up was.

Two weeks into having this wonderful plan my husband keeps waiting for them to hook up our voicemail because they advertise that it was part of our neighborhood plan at no extra cost. He finally got fed up with waiting and called they gave him this song and dance about because he didn't specifically ask for it when we initially signed up that we would have to pay the $6.00 a month extra and their wasn't anything they could do about it. It is amazing how a company can get by with extremely poor customer service.

We weren't told by anyone during the whole signing up for this process that we needed to specifically tell them that yes we needed to say we wanted the voicemail. What a joke! I am so disgusted with MCI ~ especially because they don't care about making customers happy.

I don't believe that the customer is always right but when their business thrives on customer service they need to make it a policy to start asking people if they want what is offered on their plans! Their policy seems to be "If the customer doesn't ask ~ Don't tell them they have to ask!"
