RE: IHOP, Norman, OK - following ordering, it took 30 minutes to receive meals - poor dining experience

I am writing in regards to our last, and final visit to IHOPs in Norman,Oklahoma. My wife and I went in for dinner last Thursay evening,June 19th 2003. Our waitress was great the whole time we were there, even apologizing for our wait. They were unusually slow that night, but none the lees it took 30 mimutes to receive or meals. I had ordered my eggs over easy.

They came to the table hard and with a crust around the edges. The entire meal was cold. The gravy on the chicken fried steak had developed a film. The hash browns were cool to the touch. The pancakes were so cold, the butter hadn't even melted. The waitress said she knew the eggs were cooked wrong, so she was going to have more made. After doing so, I saw her talking to the assistant manager. They were close enough to us that i heard her explain to him what she had done.

I then heard him tell her "Wait till the customer complains to do that from now on." When she came back to the table, I asked if she had gotten in trouble for this. She said she couldn't say.I asked to speak to him. When I told him I thought it totally unfair that she had gotten in trouble, he said she hadn't. I told him I did not like being called a liar, that I had heard what he said.

He said he would cover our ticket. Within a few minutes,he returned with the new eggs and more pancakes. These eggs weren't cooked much at all.The whites were still partially clear and you guessed it. The new pancakes were cold.We tipped the waitress well and told her our ticket was being covered. She returned with a ticket for my wife's meal.My wife told me her potatoes were still hard and the entire meal was cold, but that she hadn't said anything because she knew by then we wouldn't be returning.

When we got to the register and was asked by the cashier how things had been, I told her. She offered us a comment card and even told us the assistant manager's name.It was a foriegn namewhich I can't remember.I filled out the comment card and left it in the box provided.I am medically retired and home all day.To this date I have not received so much as a phone call from them.
