I contracted with Allstate Construction in Mundelein Illinois to fix my house after hail storm damage. My contract states I owe a different amount than the company is now asking for. I explicitily asked my salesman if the amount I owed was $10,894 - he said yes - and even wrote me a separate note saying so. Upon invoice, the company added in $2178 which they say is for overhead and profit.
They have now placed a lein against my home and the amount is in dispute. The salesman who came to my house did not fill in the total line on the contract, because I told him I would only pay $10,894 - so he knew had he filled that in - I would not have signed.
they have been unresponsive - we have offered to pay what our contract says we owe, but they are unwilling to settle for that.
