RE: Lazyboy store, Barboursville, WV - have taken chair back to store two times due to loud noises on July 22,2002 my husband and I purchased a lazyboy recliner from the store in Barboursville, W.V.,model no 05-237A42007. We have taken it to the store two times with c/o loud noises ( it sounds like it is 100 yrs. old and has been beaten to death everyday). This chair shakes on its' frame and is not a good piece of furniture. True , it may not be an expensive, large chair ( which the manager offered to sell me in its' place) but it the size chair I wanted and that would fit well in the room it is in.
The manager and others at the store say there is no problem with the chair, I know what I hear from the chair and it is not right. I called the number given me to call for lazyboy consumer and the woman I talked with was very rude and more or less said what ever the manager said was good enough for her and refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor when I asked to speak with one. If I had bought this chair from Sears, or anyother place in this area the chair would already have been replaced without all this hassle.
If I am to be ignored and nothing is done for us concerning this nasty piece of furniture there will not be a friend or relative of mine that does not know about it. I have had lazyboy several times in my life and have always had great items, this is not one of them. The manager of this store told, "after all, this is an entry level chair", and does that mean that the chair was not well put together anyway or is less than lazy boy has to offer in workmanship?
She as much as told us this chair was a cheap model and inferior and we should not expect too much. Your manager does you proud if you want to discourage people from shopping there. Thanks for the opportunity to voice my displeasure in your product, and I am sorry I ever walked into the store and will not make that mistake again. Mr. & Mrs J. Largent
