RE: Meier & Frank, Layton Hills Mall, Layton, UT - unable to find help at store - left without making purchases
Meier & Frank To Whom it May Concern, I'm sorry to report that I have been very disappointed with the store at the Layton Hills Mall in Layton Utah. I can't seem to find a clerk on the lower level floor...ever!! Twice I have walked into the business office and asked if anyone in their office could find me a clerk on the floor.
Three times I simply layed what I intended to purchase down on the counter and walked out of the store only to make my purchase elsewhere. I made a purchase recently (a lead crystal bowl) but that was after walking the entire floor of that level and finally found a clerk and asked for help.
My mother had the same experience in which she walked the store only to leave without what she intended to purchase. (I have had friends and co-workers who have registered their emotions to me regarding their experiences. When the store was ZCMI it was difficult to get a clerk to pay attention to you as they were standing in a group talking, as opposed to working.
But at least I could find a clerk even if I did have to break up their little chit chat session in order to make my purchase. On another occasion, around Christmas time, the store had a nice sale going on. On that occasion I found "one" clerk waiting on the customers. I asked her if there was another register opened, she replied no that she was the only one. This is during a busy time due to the sale. I also wonder why prices are not listed on items such as the crystal bowls, vases, etc. I have to hunt down a clerk just to ask prices to aid in my decision process. Your store could be a nice place to shop if you could make shopping a positive, pleasurable experience as opposed to a negative experience. Thank you.
