RE: Sears National Bank - didn't make Credit Application - informed that application was denied and required more information Subject: E-mail Dated 6-27-03, 11:15am Ref: 061803CZDP038-MEL1-08409 To: Email User I recently received a the above referenced correspondence from Sears National bank which states I requested a credit card that was denied due to a missing social security number. The letter states the bank might possibly have received the information from a consumer report agency as listed, there was no such agency listed. In the first place, I did not request or apply for a Sears' credit card, nor will I ever apply for such a card. Also, I take personal offense that Sears tried such a deceitful business tactic as this to trick me into providing sensitive personal information for a service I did not ask for nor do I desire from their organization.

The most offensive aspect of this communication is the fact Sears' was able to get this much of my personal information through whatever means and use that information for trickery and intimidation based on the implication of the last three paragraphs which implies this alleged credit application could be declined for the above reason(s), which was a missing social security number. A refusal of credit either fabricated or real will have a negative impact on my currently outstanding credit history. This action had better cease and I do not wish to receive future correspondence from Sears or any affiliate or Sears' National Bank. This information will be provided to all consumer rights groups, the Better Business Bureau locally and nationally, and I will pursue legal action for violation of my right to privacy and defamation of character if necessary. Larry A. Jones
