RE: Wal-Mart, Smithfield, NC - frequent pricing mistakes

Regarding erroneous pricing at Wal Mart: When I first moved to Smithfield N C and shopped at the Smithfield Wal Mart I always made a habit of sitting down and meticulously going over the sales slip after a purchase. Invariably there was at least one price error sometimes more. To their credit they would give you your money back and I would keep the item up to a value of $3. If it was over the $3 they would refund the difference. After awhile they started to correct their pricing because I was getting lots of free "stuff" and they were losing money especially when others I told also started doing the same thing.

They do not do the $3 thing anymore. There are ALWAYS pricing errors and as an employee its such a hassel. They also do not want the cashier to leave the register at all so when we need a price check it takes forever 10-15 minutes sometimes.. I take it upon myself to run to the dept, and get the price check myself because I know I will not get a response from an employee in that dept. I thought I was doing the customer service by getting the correct price as fast as possible and got fired for it!!! Go me!!

A couple of weeks ago we were shopping at Walmart in Smithfield NC. I was wanting to purchase some aftershave lotion that is kept locked up. I went and found a clerk at the pharmacy and she called for someone to assist me. After waiting 10 min. I again went to the same clerk and she called again. I waited another 10 min and still no help. I then went to the same clerk and ask her to call for the manager, she said he would be right over to speak to me. I waited 15 min and no one showed up. The Pharmist who was working witnessed the entire situation. She decided to take it on herself to call the manager. She told me that she wasn't pleased with the response she recieved so she called the top manager who was in a meeting at the time. He told her to just offer me a discount on the item I wanted. Now I did not purchase the item because I wasn't looking for a discount...I JUST WANTED SOME OLD FASHION SERVICE!

I have noticed over the past few months that the service at this particular store has gone done the tube. I don't know if you've noticed but the economy is in trouble and I would think that you would be interested in keeping customers shopping at your stores...but what do I know I'm just a CUSTOMER...or should I say...I was a CUSTOMER!

They supposedly "don't" Do that anymore. The will price it wrong to cause more problems for the Cashiers, to see if they would leave the Register so they can punish them. Also it takes the dept 10 minutes to respond if we have anyone there.
