RE: Washington Mutual mortgage loan - Complete Lack of Accountability - payment problems Complaints.com Readers: After over 27 hours of time, personal out-of-pocket expense, and formal complaints to the FTC, the Office of Thrift Supervision, researching and inquiring into current and potential class-action lawsuits, and reading other

complaints posted here...I cannot fathom how Washington Mutual is able to operate this way. Here is my story; which is unfortunately not unique. Is anyone out there in the known universe able to help? My mortgage loan has only been serviced by Washington Mutual since February, 2002 -- after being purchased from my original mortgage broker. In that time, none of my payments have been posted correctly, in a timely manner, or posted at all. All payments have been made through my bank via electronic

wire transfer several days before the due date ("online banking") -- and even my own bank has stated that these problems account for a significant portion of their research time and also concur that Washington Mutual is incompetent and uncooperative regarding this issue. The most important thing I with to communicate is the lack of accfountability, training, blatant dishonesty, and questionable business practices displayed by Washington Mutual. I have been given contradictory

information in my self-initiated, countless, telephone calls (I lost count at 16) to them; I received a late-night collection call from an extremely hostile, uncooperative, poorly-trained, and misinformed collections

representative;

I have received a letter from collection support personnel who have incorrect information and put this information in writing to abdicate Washington Mutual's responsibility and cover up their mistakes; when I follow up on phone calls, e-mails, and letters I am either not given the names of persons in charge, not able to speak with personnel who have given me their direct phone numbers for follow up; or put on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time and then disconnected or refused service; and not one single person has followed up with me in an effective manner.

At least I finally got an apology from a Mr. Brian Pierick via e-mail last week; however, they still refuse to credit the payments I have made for April, May, and June, 2002 -- despite repeated transmittal of supporting proof of wire transfer payments from my bank. This is clearly a serious and habitual problem with Washinfron Mutual, and I cannot stress enough how unbelievably unresponsive, poorly-trained, and negligent Washington Mutual has been since purchasing my loan in February. I have never filed complaints of this nature before; however, I simply cannot fathom that this type of organization would be allowed to operate in such a careless manner. For others in similar circumstances, I wish to pass along the following resources: 1. The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) - regulatory body; will accept formal complaints and investigate (mine in still pending) - can file online complaint or via mail: Office of Thrift Supervision, West Region

Office/Consumer Affairs Division, P.O. Box 7165, San Francisco, CA 94120 2. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) - I filed a complaint today online; they also investigate these type issues 3. The law firm of Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP. Website is www.lieffcabraser.com. They have one class-action lawsuit pending and have filed another proposed class action lawsuit against Washington Mutual regarding servicing issues. Perhaps one or more of these can provide assistance. Sincerely, A. Roy

I have my mortgage with washington mutual and am tired of pulling my hair out because of their incompetence. It has been over 3 years and still going on. I have never missed a payment or been late. They have had my home in foreclosure twice. I am a cancer survivor and am worried with all this stess they have caused me that my cancer will come back. My mother who is 98 lives with me and has a bad heart condition, she has nitemares that she is going to be living in the street, the last thing she needs is stress!

Are there any class action lawsuits filed or pending regarding this (?company?)? thank you, Susan Beatty
