RE: Expozay store, Mount Maunganui, New Zealand - vouchers for Expozay from Tauranga store not honored

I have a query and don't know if I am going down the right track by contacting you .... a few years ago I was given some voucher for Expozay in Tauranga. I have travelled overseas and come and go to Tauranga and have never redeemed the vouchers against merchandise. Late last year Expozay was sold to Bendon which I have just discovered when I went in to Expozay Mount Maunganui last week.

The vouchers were actually made out to the Tauranga Store which closed a couple of years ago, but I assumed the Mount store was still associated and that they would be honoured there. Bendon have said they will not honour them as they are too old. The vouchers have no expiry date on them. Is this legal???

I guess they could say well they were for Tauranga branch which is no longer open, however if Expozay at the Mt was still run under the old owners surely they would be in a position to have to honour them?

Is Bendon permitted to say they are too old, or that the old owners never accounted for them and so they were not paid for in the sale and agreement. I feel they should be honouring them. Appreciate your advice or direction as to who I should contact.
