RE: Household Finance - merged with ITT Financial - re-wrote the loan - did not release the lein that was under ITT Financial
For several months now, I have been trying to sell a home where the mortgage is held with Household Finance. When they merged with ITT Financial and re-wrote the loan they did not release the lein that was under ITT Financial.
My settlement attorney could not get anywhere with anyone at Household Finance. It took me to get involved to get someone to do their job.
Today I spoke to the settlement attorney, and he has not received information on the lein release. He was told that it was mailed to the courts May 6, 2002 (which he has a copy.
I called Household Finance today, and the necessary paperwork to be mailed to the courts was not mailed out until July 17, 2002, by Air bourne Express.
And of course no one has an explanation to why it took so long to be mailed. Household Finance is putting the sale of this property in jeopardy. Is there anything I can do?
