RE: Hampton Bay 10,000 BTU window air conditioner - stopped working 10 days after 1 year warranty expired I have a Hampton Bay 10,000 BTU window AC. One year and 10 days after it was purchased (10 days over the warranty) it stooped working.
It is Hampton Bay's policy to send service technicians to repair units on site. Should the defective part be out of warranty the consumer is billed an automatic $100 service charge.
I will never purchase another Hampton Bay product and urge others to do likewise.
