Emson, Lebanon, TN - Thightek Exerciser didn't work and returned it - had to pay shipping & handling

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on June 18, 2002:

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to you because I would like to post my complaint on your website in order to make the consumer aware of the products manufactured by a company called Emson in Lebanon, TN.

In the month of April I have purchased a Thightek Exerciser and when it arrived I was disappointed to find out that the product did not work.

I immediately contacted a costumer service representative at Emson and was informed that the best thing to do was to send it back.

I followed the agents advice and send the product back and expected a full refund on my credit card statement. As I found out few weeks later it was not so and when I called the company again to find out why my refund was not in full I have been informed that the company refuses to cover the shipping and handling charges eventough the product never worked.

I was also charged for two excersise tapes that I knew nothing about.I couldn't believe it and just the thought that there are other consumers that may meet with the same fate is appalling to me. Please do all that is possible in your power to warn other consumers from similar misfortunes.
