Response by David Heath: The company could not complete this work within a timeframe deemed reasonable by the owner. Ms. Pettit was refunded her deposit, less the amount owed for the concrete slab. Contract was voided.

I realize that this is 4 years later, but I was just informed of this compalint on your site. Please take the necessary steps to either remove this complaint or post my response. This company was closed in December 2002. Thank you.

RE: David Heath Aluminum, Marion County, Florida and Alachua County Florida - performed work without permit

June 2002 we contacted David Heath Aluminum through our local yellow pages in Gainesville Florida.

We entered into a contract with him to erect a screen/glass enclosure for $1800.00 and wrote a personal check for $1000.00 for a down payment with the balance being due upon completion.

Mr. Heath, without an occupational license or the required permit, paid $198.00 cash to a concrete company to form and pour a slab. Mr. Heath has thus refused to return our phone calls, refund our money, or complete the job. After the fact I have discovered others have been scammed in Marion and Alachua Counties. Many judgments have been filed with non payment from Mr. Heath so placing another judgement against him is still a loss. Currently, the State of Florida, Department of Professional Regulations is investingating other complaints. If David Heath has done work for you, please notify me at Email User to share your experience. For each unpermitted job he was involved in the fine is up to $1000.00 per incident and could also include jail time.
