2000 Chevrolet Blazer - transmission problems - valve body replaced under warranty - Bergstrom Chevrolet not able to fix recurring problem

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on June 14, 2002:

Subject: 2000 Chevrolet Blazer transmition

I have a 2000 blazer with a tranny issue. Truck shifts vert hard into 2nd gear and kicks 1870 error codes. The entire valve body was replaced under warranty and the problem is back 28,000 miles later.

The Chevrolet dealer In Neenah, Wisconsin. Bergstrom Chevrolet has not been able to fix the issue after 3 visits. The Chevrolet rep claims any repair that goes more than 12,000 miles is a good repair. They have no liability to fix the issue.

I have talked with several local shops and they all have fix's for the error cade and slipping tranny issues. One garage has done over 80 units in the last year. I am told GM knows of the defect in the workmanship and wont deal with the issue.
