Complaints.com received the following consumer message on June 14, 2002:

RE: Seaman's Furniture, Farmingdale, NY - unable to pick up couch - was denied refund - rude service I received bad customer service from the Seaman's Furniture store in Farmingdale, NY. Sunday a purchased a couch from them with the understanding that I would be able to pick it up between 6 and 6:30 on Thursday. I even had them cross off the standard pick-up time of 10-5:30 in order to indicate to them it was ok'd.
Thursday came, I arrived, and the manager told me I was late and that he wouldn't let me take it. So I told him "I was here now to pick it up, and if I couldn't have it I wanted a complete refund." He refused both, he wouldn't give me the couch or credit my account back.
Horrible service, the entire time he was rude and condescending. I am in the process of contacting the district manager, we'll see what happens.
