Complaints.com received the following consumer message on June 14, 2002:

RE: SprintPCS - overcharged by Sprint for phone credit card payment - unable to correct problem or get refund I called in on 05/20 to make a payment by credit card, after giving out card info (my wife’s VISA **74 ex. 09/04) to a representative I was told that payment did not go through due to some database problem SPRINTPCS had that day. I called back and used a check to pay the amount of 121.66 At that time I was told that payment posted successfully. As a result on 05/22 I see not 1 but 4 charges of $121.66 (overdrawing my account) to credit card with total of $486.64 and 3 bank fees for “Non-sufficient funds” total of $69.00 I've been on the phone since 05/22, talking to representatives, supervisors, managers. I sent numerous faxes with statement from the bank that SPRINTPCS did charge me $486.64 Responces that I get is "We DO NOT show any payments received from you" and "Financial Department will contact you when this issue is resolved". My account was in negative balance for more then 3 weeks, and SPRINT did not do a thing to fix the problem.

 

For 3 weeks I've been calling almost every day - reply was same "I am sorry, but this is handled by Financial Department, they will contact you with resolution" and "There is no direct number for Financial Department"... # different cases were given to me, first on 05/25 then second 06/01 then third 06/10 then fourth 06/13.

 

Last three of those cases has exactly same information. And Alas! Now supervisors tell me that it will take up to 15 days since LAST case was submitted. It is now 23 days since original case was started, and NOTHING has been done by Sprint to rectify this problem. Since 06/03 they had COMPLETE information from my bank with transactions, contact info etc.

Hi. We are going through the same issue. Sprint withdrew an addnl $577 out of our acct after making a payment and we are being told the same story by unproffessional, incompetent reps. It is as if the attitude is too bad, mistakes happen. Yet at the same time we have bills that money was set aside to pay. This is totally unfair. My bank is beginning to look into the matter also. Something has to be done. This behavior needs to be corrected!!!

Yes I am dealing with the same crap. I purchased 2 phones back in March 2007. I bought them in Americus, GA at Radioshack, but I live in Reynolds, GA. So when I got to Reynolds, Ga the phones had no reception so I drove all the way back to Americus the next day to return the phones. Granted I had to pay a $300 deposit when I purchased the phones. So I got to Radioshack and returned the phones. She refunded the $60.-- for the 2 phones but she said that Sprint would mail me a check for my deposit and here it is September and still no check! I would call everyday to try to talk to Financial Dept and the dept would never answer the phone nor call me back. This is my hard earned money and I am entitled to it. If it takes me to spend money to take them to court for my $300 and then $5,000 more, then so be it but they can't keep a business open running it like that if people like you and me stick together. Email me and lets see what we can come up with! The customer service number that I have no longer works...Isn't that grand????
