_____________________ I too had a serious accident due to an ABS failure, also in a 1995 Blazer. I had about $5,000 damage to just my vehicle. Here is the kicker. I told the police officer, the GM service center, and my insurance company about my ABS failure. They ALL ignored me. "We'll look at it." "I can't see any skid marks, but there is too much traffic to go out there and check." "I'll mention it in the claim." Nice huh? I recvd a ticket for not keeping an assured clear distance. Then GM issued the recall. I faxed it to my insurance company and after a review of my original explanation of the accident, they changed the accident to no-fault. I was reimbursed for the deductible and I also recvd a portion of my premium back. The way I described the accident was almost exactly the way the recall was worded. Understand that I had this accident about 3 years before the recall. I had a clean record up until that point and it was just prior to my 25th birthday. As a single male, that age and clean record are important for insurance. I will never be able to achieve the low insurance rates I deserve. Not to mention the fact that my driver record still has this accident on it. I draw the line at fighting governments. I don't even want to consider asking the city to remove this accident from my record. After all this, the GM service center and repair center never repaired my vehicle properly. I complained repeatedly to GM and was ignored. I did request that my insurance company remove this center off of their approved list. I am still paying for this ABS failure and GM's shotty workmanship. They can pay me back, give me a new German car.
