I took my car to be repaired at SW Ford in Weatherford, Texas, at the request of my insurance company (Allstate).
When I got the car back, it wasn't fixed and I took it back two additional times to have things redone. The last time I got it back, the transmission was leaking badly, so I got under the car and looked at the work they'd done. They had wired the transaxle rod to the transmission. The bolt that was supposed to fasten the transaxle rod to the transmission casing was glued in the bolt hole with epoxy glue. The transmission was badly cracked and the crack had been glued with epoxy glue. The exhaust system was still wrecked and was pouring exhaust out from the middle of the car. The condensor was damaged and the radiator was not fixed to anything in the car and was bouncing up and down against the hood of the car.
I could not get Allstate to come and look at what SW Ford had done to my car, so I hired an independent appraiser to come and look at it. He said it was dangerous to drive. I tried to get SW Ford to make some sort of restitution for the fraudulent work they'd done. The owner, Charlie Gilcrest, refused, inviting me instead to bring my car back to them, for a fourth time, "assuring me" that this time it would be repaired properly.
Allstate has now placed my car in another dealership and they acknowledge that the work SW Ford did was fraudulent. Allstate would not listen or respond to my complaints about the job done at SW Ford until I had the independent report done. After I sent them a copy of the report - they were at my house in a flash looking at the bad work done by SW Ford on my car.
My car wreck occurred in 2/5/01 and now it's 6/5/01, and my car is still not repaired. Allstate doesn't want to pay for the independent report I had to have done to get action, SW Ford won't pay for the independent report, either. It seems that neither party feels any responsibility for my situation.
