Frigidaire Professional Series 30' Gas Range Model FGF379WJCB Problem: Grids on the gas range spread apart causing pots to slid off
the stove or tilt over, thus creating an unsafe cooking environment. I
had two close encounters where I was nearly scald by hot grease and hot
food. This stove is unsafe and can cause injury.
I have reported this several times to electrolux and the designated service provider:
Geirge;s TV & Appliance, Waverly Iowa, 319 352-4008, 217 Breemer Ave.
In addition, I have also stated that I can not use this stove safely,
therefore I do not have a stove to cook on since last month (I'm not
taking anymore chances). I am shocked that the testing of this appliance
did not suggest or indicate that the grids were unsafe, by spreading
apart and may contribute to unsafe cooking conditions! I have spoken to several of your representatives, who do not seem to
grasp the seriousness of this situation and have not made quick steps to
provide me with a safe cooking stove. They seem to be concerned more
with the process and not my safety. The fact that I can not use the
stove safely leaves me without a means of cooking. I do not not want to
risk injury while your representatives mull over the process. It is
appalling to know that if there is an issue or an perceived issue of
safety, that the consumer's well being is not at the forefront. Must I
be burned or scaled severely before your company deem this a serious
enough issue? As part of the ongoing process, today I received yet more grates/grills
that do not fit the stove, but more importantly, I'm expected to expose
myself yet again to an unsafe cooking unit/environment to satisfy your
"reps" that this unit is really unsafe! This is outrageous and shows
little concern for my safety. This product may cause harm to me and or
my family with continued use. debbie salih cc: cpsc

I also have safety concerns with my Frigidaire Professional Series range, ceramic top.
Here is the letter I sent several times with no response to date:
I have contacted by emails customer service of Electrolux Major Appliances several times, but never receive a response. It was regarding 2 safety concerns I have with my Frigidaire Professional Series range.
The cooktop was bought for 2300.00$ in 2004. My first concern is with the Stainless Steel panel of the door. At two different occasions, someone injured himself with a deep cut made with the very sharp edges of the panel. These deep cuts occured to one adult, and my 11 months old baby. It took between 15-30 minutes of constant pressure on the cut to stop the bleeding. My baby bled ON/OFF for 3 days since the cut kept re-opening everytime he would play/crawl on his hands.
My second safety concern is with the oven racks. Their size seems too narrow for the oven, and can easily move from left to right. The gap is so big, that it gets to the point where it barely holds on the rail of the oven wall. All 3 racks have the same problem.
As I was putting a very hot and heavy Le Creuset cast iron pot on the oven, the pot crashed down as the oven rack dropped down on one side. I was lucky the content stayed inside the pot and I did not burn myself seriously. It could have been so dangerous.
This is totally unnacceptable. I am scared to death now to use my oven.
I don't know if there has been recalls regarding these issues. However, I hope someone will contact me in order to correct the situation.
These are serious problems that I would have never expect to encounter for a 2300$ electric range.
Best Regards
Christine

Yes, I agree, I have this model also. The grates slide around. I did have a pot spill. I didn't get burned, but I had a mess to clean up. Why don't they fit right? I actually hate this stove. It has always had an oven heating problem with it. Not only is it unsafe, it's un-reliable. Worst appliance I have ever owned.
