Kitten Adoption Racketeering

Hello,

My name is Anthony Carrion and I'm sending my problem this way because I

could not find a category to list this under. We paid for a kitten in advance, we have the adoption papers and receipt of

purchase. The place of business is called Angel Puss Rescue in Canoga Park,

California. The adoption papers gave a date when the kitten could be picked

up.

On that date my daughter and wife went to Angel Puss and were told the kitten

was not weaned yet. Yet the kitten was eating regular cat food as seen by my

daughter.

The proprietor aggressively challenged my family in their knowledge of

raising kittens. We are all grown adults, and we have raised squirrels in

the past from babies to maturity to be released. In any event my wife asked

for a refund and it was denied and the monies were classified as a "donation"

to their organization (which is voluntary) There is a contract with many

provisos that is attached to the bill of sale and it is nebulous where it

states when the monies become a donation. Specifically, they claim they can

come to your house and take this kitten away from you if they think it is not

being cared for properly.

I feel the truth behind all this confusion is that the proprietor wants to

punish us by keeping the kitten and keeping our money in the name of a

donation. I understand that one of the voluntary employees said they had to

be careful because they were being harassed for racketeering.

During the argument between my wife and daughter, the proprietor managed to

lock the door to her business leaving my wife outside and my pregnant

daughter locked inside the store till the police showed up. The police even

said that she is always calling them.

It is the principal I am contesting of this horrific behavior from this

woman, her mental capacity is off balance and full of contempt. I'm afraid

that this pattern will repeat itself on other innocent familles searching for

a kitten or cat. If you cannot assist me, please recommend or point me in a direction to help

us.

I truly appreciate your help in any way possible. Thank you, Anthony M. Carrion
