Date: Tuesday, June 12, 2001 02:50 PM My 2000 Jetta with 10500 miles burned 2.5 qts of oil in the last 5000 miles. VW says that 1 qt every 1200-1500 miles is acceptable and wants me to run an oil consumption test to see what the rate is. Does ANYONE think that is acceptable.

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR, OR ANY OTHER VW WITH THE 2.0 LITER ENGINE. I've had to get the Better Business Bureau involved because VW is not accepting responsibility for faulty equipment. I don't seem to be alone either. Check out other sites and you'll see.
