Complaints about Ugly Bathroom/American Refinishing System, Inc

I want to help other customers not to have the same bad experience I did

with above company. The adress of above company is: Street Address: 3120

954.966.7176, 1.800.636.9190, 954.986.6646 In their advertisement in "The Flyer" the promise a warranty of 10 years for

your work. That's why I've chosen this company. The price they gave me over

the phone was $215.00 everything included. I've set up and appointment with above company (her name was Shari) to

reglaze my bathtub and my bathroom sink.

The work was scheduled for 5/19/01. Before they put on the paint they have

asked me if I want them to put the sealer around the bathtub. If I want to

choose the color grey I would have to pay additional $25.00 to get it done.

I denied the color grey and ask them to put the clear sealer on. After they were finished I had to sign a contract where the amount of

$225.00 was put on. I never have a lot of cash in my house and I want to

write out a check. The guy (I guess his name was Gino) told me since it is a

Saturday I've to make out the check "cash" and I did but only in the amount

of $215.00 what I've been told on the phone. Then he told me that I have to let dry the paint for 24 hours. On Sunday

afternoon I took of the patching tape and paper they have put on to protect

faucets, partially the tiles etc. away. Now I found out that

First of all they didn't put any sealer around the bathtub.

Second there was paint on some tiles and on the bathroom floor.

Third: They have missed out to put paint on a few spots on the bathtub and

in one corner the top was very uneven. I have called them immedately and ask them to come over to fix the problems.

To make a long story short.

 

They have promised me 10 times they will be there on a certain day at a

certain time. They never showed up nor called me to cancel.

On several days I couldn't reach anybody on the phone and left several

message which they never returned. After one call on Monday, August 4, Shari told me that she will try to

schedule them for Saturday August 9.

 

They tried to reglaze again. The missing spots were gone but the top of the

corner bathtub is still uneven. One of the people tried to remove some

protecting paper and put scratches on the outside of my bathtub. They tried

to reglaze this part but the scratches are still notable. Again I had paint

on some tiles and now even on my under sink cabinett. At this point I just have to give up because I can not fight any longer. I just want to warn everybody else not to use this company because there

work is very sloppy and the service is lausy.

I furthermore think that they try not to pay taxes on their income otherwise

they wouldn't have ask me to make out the check "cash". With best regards,
