RE: 2002 Turbo Tax Deluxe - Intuit, Inc., Mountain View, CA - does not properly handle tax free dividends from municipal bond funds This product has elementary defects which Intuit refuses to fix. The product is supposed to accurately compute individual income taxes but fails to properly handle tax free dividends issued by Municipal bond funds. The product doesn't appear to correctly account for Alternative Minimum Taxes. Several letters were sent to Intuit over the last four months but the company refuses to discuss or understand, much less repair, the defective software. This product's main advantage over the cheaper 2002 Basic Turbo Tax is the inclusion of the current tax documentation on the CD. However, once the CD is purchased, the buyer discovers that the product contains the prior year (2001) documentation and that the current documentation can be viewed online. This is pure and simple misrepresentation.
Intuit should fix the defective software and issue new/corrected CDs to purchasers. Howard and Lynn Giles
