In March of 2003 my wife surprised me with a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop as a gift. She ordered it on line special with $200 in rebates as an incentive.
Upon ordering it a fast talking tech went on to pad the order with several things my wife did not order such as 2 battery packs, programs and the biggest rip of all...$747 in warrantees and variations of warrantees. By the time the invoice arrived instead of the simply laptop and a handful of extra items...the invoice held 33 items. The initial bill of $1049.00 was now $2,100.00.
The true nightmare began when it came time to return these items. A hellish realm of endless waiting on line. Speaking upward to 8 individuals in one sitting. Being re-routed, placed on hold and being told an itemization of my bill showing exactly what we were being billed for was not possible. Never will we purchase another Dell product...andmy wife still awaits for this nonsense to be rectified.
Chuck
