RE: CBS TV - let go longstanding top minority anchor Dear Sir/Madam; It has just come to my attention that well-respected news anchor, John Davis is not on vacation but has been let go by your station. Mr. Davis was and is a well-respected journalist and a fixture on the nightly news. First, there was Diane Burns at ABC and now John Davis at CBS.
The Chicago minority community feels very strongly about losing our most visible news anchors and community representatives from the top news stations in our area. We would like to register a strong protest. Hopefully, you will reconsider the renewal of the John Davis contract.
It is important to our community to witness the return of established veteran news anchors who have contributed greatly to the credibility of network news in our area. Thank you for respecting our opinions. Jay Carter
