I am trying to make everyone I can aware of a complaint I have with Verizon about recent service and lack of assistance I have received from Verizon. I was to have my home phone service turned on on Friday, June 27, 2003, in the Bronx. No one came to my home by the appointed 12noon, so I called Verizon and was told that my order had been bumped the night before from that day and the next available date for connection would be July 15th.
I was not called by Verizon and told about the change as I sat and waited all morning and lost a day at work. My contact number was available. I then scheduled my next appointment for July 15th but called early in July to see if anything had become available.
I was told yes and they would come and connect service on Tuesday, July 9th. Again I waited on July 9th and did not see a Verizon technician and again called Verizon. I was informed that the order had a note on it and it once again could not be completed. I asked why I was never called as I had now spent another day from work and I was told by the representative that she did not know why I was not informed of the change. During this time I requested three call backs from supervisors and still have not been called back once. Finally, I waited again today, July 15th for service to be connected.
I eventually called around 11:30am and spoke with Michelle and then Ms. Perez who told me again that there was a note on my order that the service was not going to be connected today and there was no supervisor available to speak with. They were only handling call backs.
The note reflected that it was too busy in the area to turn on my service. Again, I was not called by Verizon about the change and have now sat home on three separate occasions, not going to work, and waiting for phone service I still do not have. I was told that the next available date is July 24th. The is inconvenient and inconsiderate on the part of Verizon. I have been a loyal customer of Verizon and Verizon wireless for over 8 years and to receive this kind of service is unacceptable.
I have lost three vacation days waiting for phone service and have spoken to a supervisor once, in all the times I have called. I was fortunate enough to call one day and a supervisor was available. I have been unable to access my email and the Internet service for work matters and it is starting to catch up to me. I went over my allotted minutes this month on my cell phone trying to rectify this issue and needing to use it as my primary phone. I have spent hours on the phone this month with Verizon and have still made no progress.
I can't afford to take off another work day, as I just started a new job in July. I have given out the number I was assigned by Verizon to patients and colleagues to contact me and it is still unavailable and they have been unable to reach me.
This has completely been an inconvenience and it affecting areas of my life that could have been prevented with some courtesy and diligence to this matter. If you have any suggestions please email me at Email User Thank you.
