Suncom - got behind making payments - account sent to collections

I had service with suncom and had great service, until I found out about the auto renewal. I know a lady that works for suncom. I went in to see if new plans were avalible that would better serve me, and to also cancel the year long contract.

 

She said to call 30 days prior to your aniversy date, which i did and they said NO PROBLEM. Not thinking no more about it I went on paying for service.

 

The bill was getting more than I could afford, so I started looking else where. I've gotton a month behind and found a better deal with another company, so I went with them.

 

Suncom sent me to collections for 858.00 early cancelation fee 200.00 per line had to lines = 400.00 . 238.00 pastdue Not disputing past due willing to pay. 238+400= 638 Not understanding what the rest of the money is for 220.00 collections told me its fees. I'm trying to get this resolved peacfully but I can't get anyone there to help me.
