RE: Log Cabin Resort, Port Angeles, WA - business reply

Dear Neelkamal,

I don't understand what it is that you want. You never addressed a complaint to me while you were staying here. You never called or asked for me until after your departure. I investigated your allegations and found them false except for the problem with the hot water and the plumbing problem, I acknowledged this problem and you still continued to speak in an argumentative direction. There was no malfunction of the peddle boats, as I spoke to you, and you insisted on arguing with me.

The currant in the middle of the lake was the only problem that prevailed. Only people that take the peddle boats to the middle of the lake have a problem. The peddle boats were thoroughly checked and function fine. They don't operate like motor boats or electrically operated equipment like those at Disneyland. The plumbing problem was taken care of the same day that we were notified of the problem and the hot water was thought to have been addressed also, but a professional electrician was called in to investigate, at which, I have proof of this. The housekeeping department isn't allowed to intrude upon any room until 11:00 a.m.

It is unfortunate that this happened to you, but I certainly would think someone with as many complaints as you would have addressed these issues to a manager immediately for the lengths of addressing issues at the extent that you are doing. I found no soiled futon cover and our towels aren't tattered, nor do they smell musty nor are they dirty. The towels that were in your room were purchased one month ago and this resort prides itself for cleanliness. Our rooms and amenities are checked by Federal Inspections and surprise Tour Book inspections throughout our operational season. If the allegations you spoke were true, we certainly wouldn't pass those inspections or be listed in the tour books. You also insinuated in our conversation that my standards of cleanliness were less than yours.

When you called me on the telephone you seemingly just wanted to argue with me, I don't argue with people, this never solves a problem. Why didn't you address these issues with me at the time of happening? My telephone number is listed on the door for any problems people may have. Why did you just leave a comment in the comment basket and a list that was prepared rudely and telephone calls? I am here at the resort 24 hours a day, and only leave for two hours once a week to gather supplies. I work sixteen hours a day during our busy season, and an immediate response of a telephone call to you is impossible.

As you can see the time of this writing, I don't think that you would appreciate me calling you at this time of night, it is almost midnight. When you telephoned this week and I was at hand, I certainly took your telephone call, only to listen to you wanting to argue with me and not really stating a solution. When you continued with your arguing I spoke "good bye" and hung the telephone up- I didn't slam it down.

I don't know who your colleagues are, but this resort is not a rip off. If you check pricing for lodging in this area you would find this to be true.

You can read our Customer Comment Book in the lobby to see how other people have enjoyed their stay and service at this resort or I could ask thousands of people to write you a letter as to the cleanliness and good service that they have received from this resort, but I don't think that would help this situation- you just seem to want to have an argument.

I would have gladly tried to resolve any problems that you had during your stay here, but under the circumstances I am exercising our policy of "The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone." The foregoing statement is for your colleagues also that comment negatively about Log Cabin Resort, Inc. If you continue with your emails or letters with statements like this I will be forced to "Declare A Defamation Of Character" action against it. I am sending a copy of this situation to the appropriate authorities and my Corporate Lawyer. Sincerely,

Becky Rice

RE: Log Cabin Resport, near Lake Crescent, National Olympic Park, WA - several problems with cabin

All, On July 5th we (my husband and my brother and I) stayed in Cabin #2 in the Log Cabin Resort near Lake Crescent, Nat'nl Olympic Park, WA. The cabin was in my husband's name - Vamsi.I am writing to seek retribution to a real horrible stay we had for one night in the Log Cabin Resort and what is worse is when I submitted a list of complaints to the "owner" - we were told her name was Becky - she never called me and when I finally got hold of her after a couple of days .....She said that she found my list of complaints "rude" and slammed the phone on me !All - for trying to communicate our complaints! This is the first time in my life that when I have tried to state a complaint to the respective "owner" - It was suggested that "writing the list of complaints" was rude and the phone slammed in my face!My list of complaints was a plain piece of paper on which I summarized these complaints (Becky agreed that they had a plumbing problem!)1. The sink was clogged and we had to brush our teeth in the "shower" stall!

2. No hot water supply! There wasn't any hot water supply in the bathroom - as a result of which we had to brush teeth and take showers - in freezing water

3. The futon was stained and dirty. You could run a finger on it and turn up a "blackened" finger! The lady who "checked" us out the next day (not Becky) admitted that they had not taken records that we were a party of 3 stopping in one cabin ...and hence they had forgotten to make the futon bed (meaning they had forgotten to get us a fresh supply of bedlinen).

One month back (when we were booking this cabin - we were told that we weren't getting an extra bed for my brother but an extra futon- and hence we felt we had talked about this situation - but) Becky tried to boomerang the situation by suggesting that we paid less for 3 people and that we never let them know that 3 of us were arriving. As a newly-wed couple - even the idea that we would gladly want our brother to share the bed with us - seems appalling to us! For the record -

3 of us had to share one bed - only a non-human would sleep in a futon that dirty and that stained!

4. The lady who checked us out (I didn't get her name) - asked us why we didn't call house-keeping BUT ..we were in Port Angeles till 12 p.m. in the night and our day that day had started at 4 a.m. in the morning and we were dog-tired. Yet, I did put out the "Maid Service Needed" sign in the night and didn't hear from anyone until 11 a.m. next day (July 6th)even when we were checking out!

5. Only half the towels in the bathroom were clean! The others were unclean, faded, shredded and musty.

6. The previous evening - my husband and my brother rented a "Peddle boat" which had a faulty axle and they were stuck in the middle of the lake (hardly a few meters away) for 45 minutes - furiously peddling away! The "effort" exerted didn't equal the motion at all! When we mentioned this to the other lady(not Becky) she admitted that - Yes! they had gotten reports of their "Peddle boats" being horribly in need of repair and referred me to Becky - their rude owner.

All in all - Log Cabin Resort is ripping people off their money - we paid $110 - plus -for one night in hell!I mean - we know it isn't a luxury resort ...at the same time ..what we were asking for were "simple basic amenities" ! Also - when we stated just a plain list of complaints (not even as detailed as what I summarized above) Becky refused to acknowledge our list and banged the phone on me mid-way through the conversation! After this incident I spoke to dozens of my colleagues at work and most acknowledged that Log Cabin Resort has acquired the reputation of a rip-off resort with unhealthy, unsanitary and inhuman living conditions and I am wondering if a health-inspection isn't overdue on this place. Also - where else can I write to get my complaint redressed?HELP me please! I refuse to sit quiet knowing that I have had the worst stay of a hotel that I know of, that -my complaints have been thrown back on my face and a phone banged in my face - while the rude Becky savors the fruits of her rip-offs?Thanks,

Neelkamal

"This is the first time in my life that when I have tried to state a complaint to the respective "owner". This about says it all. The complaint was posted by someone who self admittedly likes to complain. I have stayed at the resort and eaten there and I have always been satisfied by the cleanlyness and service.
