RE: MSN - signed up for service at Best Buy in connection with TV purchase - unable to connect to MSN
I purchased a television set at Best Buy with a $400 discount based on the agreement that I sign up for MSN web service for 3 years at $20 per month. I signed the agreement, and signed up for MSN. Over the course of two years, I tried to access MSN, but never was able to connect to the internet. I contacted MSN service many times trying to understand how to connect to the internet. Never were they able to help me.
Now, I have requested that my agreement be stopped, based on the fact that I cannot use MSN. When talking to the people at MSN, they told me that the contract I signed stated that it doesn't matter whether or not I was ever able to get MSN to work or not, that I still owed them the three year's worth of membership money. I explained that I wanted to use MSN, and would do whatever it takes to make it work.
They said that the contract doesn't state anywhere that I could ever get connected with MSN, just that I owe the money regardless. Now they are threatening to charge me extra fees for stopping my credit card payments. I feel this is fraud in every sense of the word.
