I refinanced my home through Integrity Mortgage in October of 2002 and the loan was sold to ABN AMRO before I even made my first payment. I paid ABN AMRO as agreed for about 5 months. They then sent me a new payment book with a $200 increase in the payment and no explanation.
When I called, I was told that they weren't sure why it was higher but that my escrow was being dipped into and I needed to "fill it back up", so to speak. When it was finally figured out, ABN AMRO was telling me that they didn't have any proof of hazard insurance on my home and they were taking it out of my escrow account. I bought the home in 2000 and have had insurance on it the whole time with no lapses in coverage.....
I was told to have Allstate Insurance fax the info over to them and just make the old payment and everything was taken care of. They proceeded to return my check to me several times and say that "We have not worked out a new payment with you." When I called several times about this, I was always told that everything was fine and to just send the old payment.....but every time, my check was returned.
NOW, I have a 30+ days late on my credit report and can't get a good loan to but a new home....and they won't correct the problem. I have had an attorney send them letters and they won't respond....I'm stuck with a glitch on my credit, no response from ANB AMRO, and no way to buy a new home.
If they didn't have proof of insurance on my home, why in the world did they buy the loan in the first place? They DID have proof when they closed with Integrity....it's a ploy to get more cash out of my pocket and mess up my credit.....it's all straightened out now, payment-wise......but my credit is mucked up and they won't fix it...even though it's their fault.
