Since it was late evening I couldn't get ahold of an insuance agent to arrange for insurance. The salesman was very pushy about me finalizing the deal, and taking my truck home that night. They said they could hook me up with an agent right then. They assured me that I colud just keep the insurance for a month, and switch to my own agent.
The salesman spoke to someone over the phone, he told them all the information about me and the sale. Then he hands the phone to me. The agent confirmed my personal info. Then told me to leave a check with the salesman for $206.00 and that I was safe and insured to take my truck home. The next night on my from work I got a speeding ticket. I didn't have proof of insurance.
The officer said I could mail my proof in with the ticket. I waited a couple of days thinking I would receive my insurance papers in the mail. I had to mail the ticket within 10 days. After 5 days I started calling the agent to see what the holdup was. I couldn't get an answer or answering machine or anything. I then started calling the salesman at beechmont ford. I was assured that they would straighten it out.I mailed the ticket in without the needed proof of insurance.I didn't know what else to do.
Beechmont ford calls back, and tells me they have it straigten out,and my papers are in the mail. I still have not gotten anything and it has been 2 months. After 25 days of constant calls to the agent and beechmont ford, the dealed finally told me to find a new agent and they would pay the premiun for me.That still wouldn't cover me for the ticket.
So here I sit waiting for the state to take my license for driving without insurance. The finance company is demanding proof also.I want to know how I was allowed to leave the lot without insurance.Isn't that illegal? I have not even received a bill for the insurance, so i'm pretty sure I have been driving without insurance for 2 months. I'm going to have to see an attorney now.
