Dear Complaints.com, I hope this e-mail can help others. In April I had a conslutation at La Weight loss they assured me that they could help me with my attempt to lose weight.
I repeatly told them that I could not stand pre packaged snacks and sweet things and had no desire to taste them, the manager and counselor assured me that i would not have to eat those things if i didn't want to, that I could still benifit from the diet.
Well I paid 406.00 to loss 56 pds. after the initial 5 day diet the counselors told me they would guide you thought the diet, you are suppose to visit the center three times a week. Well I became a problem to them when i would not buy the lites (snacks) that is a main part of their diet program which I told them in the beginning that I could and would not eat.
I stopped going because I became frustrated by them. They had no problem taking my money... no one from the center has bothered to follow up to see why i have not returned not one phone call to me to see if I'm alive!! where is all the guidance and counseling they promised before they got my money.

From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Tuesday, 09-Jul-02 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI was an employee at LAWL for years, the reaason why the company is going under is because of lies,the focus like any other business is money.As a counselor it broke my heart to take advantage of a client's wallet when they were seeking honest professional help.The goal was to have clients come in 3 times a week to sell them,thats why we were pushy, to reach revenue goals set up by company.On the contrary the items were useful to help with convenience or weight loss but there are cheaper alternatives at local grocery stores which were even healthier than ours.They also say the reason why we've changed to PURE is because of a whole franchise incident with 20/20...LIE.Some counselors were so docile that they cant even help themselves&in my territory most barely spoke english.,Consistencey with this plan as well as others with excercise will always work.But is it really worth spending thousands like most clients.Most employees were very unhappy because the company treated us like robots, no incentive to deliver customer service so therefore unhappy employees deliver uneffective service.PURE and LAWL is the same company and same owner please potential clients dont be fooled.We go on trainings to memorize scripts on how to answer your inquiries regarding name change or 20/20 investigation. But all was not bad as a counselor it taught me how to be aggresive,expand my interpersonal skills, and motivate me to move on to better things.
