RE: USPS delivery of express mail - delivered to wrong address - no help from USPS

On july 3, 2002 i mailed an express letter to my son. guaranteed delivery by noon of july the 4. my son lives in tallahassee fl. the letter was delivered to Dulles Va. and signed for by J VAPD.

WHY DID THE POSTMAN DELIVER THE LETTER TO THIS ADDRESS, knowing it was not the right address? it is now 15:15 of the 6, and my son still does not have the letter.

My local postal manager checked by computer this a.m. and the printout said it was delivered this a.m. at 0800. Boy what a lie. no explainations were forthcoming. BUT I AM GOING TO FIND THE ANSWER.

at my house in baltimore, maryland i get this problem on a regular basis, every two weeks or so.letters are addressed to other houses but are delivered to mine and my letters are going somewhere else. i also had a priority mail package sit at the post office for three weeks before it was delivered. the new carrier first gave me a sorry we missed you notice and then placed the package in my doorway the next day.

this new carrier replaced our regular postman who had been on the job here for ten years. during the time he was on the job this kind of thing rarely happened. the new carrier still does not have a uniform after three months.

these problems started just after this new carrier went on duty.

i received someone elses bank account book. i placed it in the mail box but the next day it was right back at my house. that sounds like it was handled by a malfunctioning machine.

i am now waiting for a refund check for a product but probably will not receive that. this idiocy costs people money.

all this doesnt top the time i had my mail completely cut off because some postal thief changed my address. this was also after a change of the guard at the post office when a bunch of temp workers were hired as carriers. the idea is to change a persons address so that their mail goes to another address in order to steal checks and other valuables. this can be done because of lax and stupid postal regulations. it took three months just to get my mail service restored.

i do not use the stamps by mail from the post office anymore because once i did not receive the stamps. when i complained they told me the stamps were delivered but since i did not sign for them its just my word against theirs.

we now have a third world post office. i see nothing but the continuation of the same old corporate criminal monopoly and a continued degradation of service. at least before they mainly only had a bad package service, but now they cannot even deliver letters.

if their government funding depended on competition from other carriers like ups i do not think the post office would be so arrogant and complacent. we do not need a government funded post office.

carriers like ups and fedex could deliver letters with alot better efficiency. the post office in fact uses ups and fedex to a high degree because without them it cannot even move its own mail.
