I recently bought a new computer from Gateway and installed AOL 7.0 on my new computer. My initial problem is that after using AOL and logging off, AOL doesn't go away.
It remains in the system and slows down the computer to a crawl. An AOL program title WAOL.exe remains alive and the only way I can proceed is to press CTRL, ATL, and DEL and then delete that program from the system. I called several times to try to fix the problem and with the exception of the first call, I was treated rudely and told that I should go back to Gateway to get the problem fixed. I believe it is an AOL problem. When I log off and the audio says Goodbye, I think AOL should go away and not stay active in the system. If you don't have a solution, my only alternative is to change providers.
