Complaints.com received the following consumer message on July 3, 2002:

RE: INPHONIC, INC. - took $ 169.95 from bank account without authorization
They debited a total of $ 169.95 out of my bank account without authorization from myself or my husband.
After many phone calls to the customer relations department, they infomormed me of the "conformation e-mail." Of course, we did not respond, and now there is a "phone on the way to me", and we are out $ 169.95.
I am contacting my attorney, and the attorney general's office to report this company. I have to wait for the "rebate" they promised me for one of the debit amounts, but they informed me that I could not get my account credited for the $ 59.98 debit until they get their "equipment" back.
I have yet to receive the "equipment", but it should be here any day. I have requested a postage paid mailer to be sent to me because I am not paying postage on something I did not order.
