Complaints.com received the following consumer message on July 23, 2002:

RE: Scarsdale (NY) Pest Control, division of Westex - quoted $ 200, charged $ 220 for pest treatment

Yard invaded with cicada wasps and called several pest control companies. The above responded with alacrity and said it would cost $200. When guy came he charged $220 plus tax as no one could get into the house with so many bees/wasps.

Other companies called back and quoted $20, $40 and $80 to cure problem after Scarsdale was paid $220. They are supposed to come back and have not. Problem worse than before.

Will not refund any money after complaint but said they want the list of cheaper guys and will hire them.
