RE: 2001 Cadillac STS - many problems with leased car - starter, roof liner, wheel bearings, other problems
We leased a 2001 Cadillac STS sixteen months ago. Since that time we have been living with a nighmare of problems:
a) A week after leasing the vehicle the truck leaked around the wheel well. The dealership dryed the trunk leaving a heavy musty smell. We had to argue with them to replace the liner.
b) Two weeks later the starter had to be replaced.
c) A few weeks later the roof liner over the back window starting falling down. They Velcroed it back .
d) The upholstery around the glove compartment is coming off.
e) The front wheel bearings had to be replaced.
f) The seat heaters had to be replaced.
g) The roof liner over the front window is now falling down.
h) The moulding on the passenger side is now coming off
i) the back door is not opening
j) The engine was missing strokes and had to be serviced
k) The steering wheel is now making a weird noise.
l) Every second fuel fill up you need to add a lite of oil
m) Roof liner over the back window is falling down once again.
We have had to make 30 service trips in over 16 months with this vehicle. GM's customer assistance at 1-800-263-3777 tells us "we can simply hold your hand and walk you through 80,000 kms or 4 years". We are seriously thinking of dropping it off for service on Wednesday and tell GM Carter dealership to keep their vehicle and sue us.
