RE: Yashica Zoomate 115 - film door broken - repair center won't fix under warranty - hinge just broke unexpectedly
Dear Sir/Madam:
The film door on the subject camera - Yashica Zoomate 115 - fractured right at the hinge and the authorized repair center will not repair the camera under the warranty. It appears to me that the hinge pin is imbedded in a very thin section of material.
There was no droppage or force applied to the camera. There are no impact marks on the camera. The hinge just broke unexpectedly. Looks like a bad design as the material around the hinge pin is too thin. I understand that this camera has a bad repair record, and I am requesting that it be repaired free of charge or that I be given an equivalent camera.
The Camera was submitted for repair to:
Dodd Camera and Video 2077 East 30th St. Cleveland, Ohio 44115 TEL 216-361-6809 FAX 216-361-6819
Repair No. ao 03747
Estimated cost to repair is $142.10
Sincerely,
James Opatrny Bay Village, Ohio 44140
