RE: cigarettes - Windsor, Canada store chain A&P have raised the price of a carton by $14.00

Since the price of a carton of cigarettes went up a couple of weeks ago, the Windsor store chain A&P have raised the price of a carton by $14.00.

I believe the tax increase was a total of Proincial and Federal of $8.50. Please explain the reason that a store chain can do this to consumers.

Smokers are not happy that they smoke but until they are ready to quit, they should not be taken advantage of.
