Travel - Continental Airlines & Carnival Cruise Lines long day in Anchorage
Long Day in Anchorage Continental Airlines / Carnival Cruise Lines From: Date: Friday, July 27, 2001 11:36 PM Subject: Long Day in Anchorage From: Sent To: 7/27/2001 11:36:50 PM From: Harvey and Sharon Yaw 409 Brookhollow Conroe, Texas 77385 (936) 321-3698 To: Carnival Cruise Lines Continental Airlines Date: July 27, 2001 This is a joint comment letter to Carnival Cruise Lines and Continental Airlines. The experience and excitement of a successful cruise ended with one long unforgettable day. Getting up at 4:30 A.M. and exiting the ship at 6:00 A.M. was just the start. Arriving in Anchorage around 12:00 P.M., we were originally told that we would be taken straight to the airport to get our luggage, and could check it in with Continental Airlines. At the Train Depot we were told that arrangements had been changed, and we would be taken to the Egan Center. At the Egan Center we were given conflicting stories about whether our luggage was at Egan Center or at the airport. After being assured that our luggage was at the airport, we were told to get a bus pass for one of the following times, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30 or 5:00 P.M. for transportation from downtown Anchorage to the airport. After getting a bus pass for 4:00 P.M., we walked around Downtown Anchorage, and then waited for the 4:00 P.M. bus to be taken to the airport. Arriving at the airport at 4:15 P.M., we located our luggage, and got in the line at Continental Airlines to check in. Only one Continental clerk was working, trying to check in over two to three hundred, mostly Carnival customers waiting in line, with more coming on every bus.
