I purchased a sofa bed and loveseat from Jennifer Convertibles located at 8939 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138, on April 7, 2001. On May 24th, the items were delivered in the incorrect fabric color that I selected. I have been patiently waiting, making phone calls and writing letters to management and upper-management to convey my dissatisfaction with this company since May 29th. I have suggested that I be compensated since this problem is because of Jennifer Convertibles and/or the warehouse from which the shipment came.
All I asked for was the delivery of my correct order and a refund of the delivery fee I paid: $69.99. I was told that that could not be offered to me, yet I was offered $100.00 to keep the items that they delivered in error. I have called several different people to get this resolved and no one answers the phones and they definitely do not return phone calls or respond to letters. I have been given the run around and treated like dirt since this whole episode started. I advise no one, repeat, no one to shop Jennifer Convertibles at the location listed above or any location that Nelda, the sales associate at the store, Rita Campbell, Aaron Carson and Chris Anderson are directly (or indirectly for that matter), involved with. They have shown me that they do not care about my rights as a consumer. They don't care that I am inconvenienced. They don't care that I have been lied to, that I have waited all this time to receive something I paid for in full in May.
Here it is July 16, 2001 and I still do not have what I ordered and paid for.
Nelda assured me before I left the store on May 24th after their mix-up, that she would personally make sure that my items were reordered and delivered. That was a lie because I was told by Rita that she, Nelda does not have the right to reorder anything. Rita also told me that she was away at a wedding when I questioned her about not returning my phone call. Keep in mind I did not hear from her from May 29th to June 11th, when I called her back. On his voice mail message, Aaron Carson claims that he tries to return calls within 48 hours. I called him in June, I'm still waiting on his call. The same with this Chris Anderson guy. He called me July 2nd and left a message. I called him back the next day. I'm still waiting. Consumer's be warned. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AT AN ORGANIZATION THAT CARES NOTHING ABOUT YOU? My mother suggested that I look for new furniture there, because I had just moved. I have read so many horror stories about this company. I promise you I will conduct my business elsewhere. I am disappointed in the way this company is treating its consumers and I will continue to look for another furniture company. I am still "in the process" of getting merchandize I paid for 4 weeks ago... Apparently this company only cares to charge you and doesn't keep their part of a deal. I WOULDN'T WISH TO ANYONE TO DEAL WITH JENNIFER CONVERTIBLES. YOU WILL BUY A GREAT HEADACHE FOR YOUR MONEY!!! It has been a nightmare. They scratched up my brand new furniture and are choosing to do nothing about it. It has been one major nightmare!!! I suspect that they will not honor the so called warrenty on the furntiure either!! How can this company continue to rip people off and still be in existance?
