Restaurants, Denny's, Auckland, New Zealand waited 30 minutes for desserts

Date: Thursday, July 12, 2001 05:56 AM I went to Denny's Restaurant in Manukau, a suburb of Auckland,New Zealand in May 2001 for my son's birthday. We had the worst service you can ever imagined. Waited about 30minutes for deserts. When I went to see the waitress who waited on us, she said it was her colleague's fault for not getting them ready. Her solleague then said she forgot. I then wrote a comment/complaint sheet.

I paid the full amount for out party of 9 people. I said tot he manager I expect an explanation. 6 weeks went by and I did not get any apology or response. I then rang the manager who said he will get the head office to reply. Until now, nearly 2 months from the incident(bad experience) I had no response from anyone from Denny's.

What a shame a restaurant chain of that size cannot deal with a customer who had experienced an awful experience in one of their restaurants.

One thing I can say..." I will never go there again. to Denny's"

I have myself never been to Denny's in Auckland but the one in Christchurch seems alright.

One thing I can say that people make mistakes, I used to work at one of the restaurants and sometimes it got so busy we did forget things, or spilt or even just plain old didn't smile, I do agree that you should have gotten an appology and atleast the desserts half price for your waiting.

That waitress should have checked on you earlier to see if you recieved the items you ordered.. busy or not. But honestly don't let one bad experience stop you from going back.. think about it, how would you feel if you were the waitress? I mean those places get so busy we had 100 customers come in at once.. all served and happy. So yeah thats my reply
