Tara Thai- Rest., Gaithersburg, MD - slow service experience

RE: Tara Thai- Rest., Gaithersburg, MD - slow service experience

On Saturday evening, Jan. 4, I met up with two friends at Tara Thai rest. in Gaithersburg,MD. They had

arrived at approx. 7:45 p.m. and were told an hour wait. I believe it took more than that before we were

seated. In an effort to save time, we reviewed the menu before being seated and knew what we wanted to

order. Upon seating us the waitress took our menus from us and then gave us new ones. 10 minutes later I had to get the attention of one of the servers to have someone come take our order. Once

the order was taken it took 30 minutes for food to be served. We had to ask the hostess to inquire about

the delay and she had to visit the kitchen twice to see what was taking so long.

She was told after the first time that our meals were coming right out. We asked the hostess because we were unable to locate our waitress.) We had at the most five minutes to eat our food before we had to leave for a 9:40 p.m. movie that we had tickets for. As a result of the poor service at Tara Thai we were not able to get seats together at the movie theater. My friends and I clearly planned enough time for us to eat and make the movie. I did not even finish my meal.

I suggested to the server who brought us our bill (we insisted twice upon the bill when the food was

served.) that perhaps he would like to have the cost reduced. I received I am sorry.

Needless to say we will not be eating at any of the Tara Thai locations in the future. Deborah Cohen
