RE: Kitchen Aid Range - self-cleaning, convection model - fills house with smoke during self-cleaning

When I remodelled my home a few years ago I bought what I was told was "top of the line" Kitchen Aid appliances. While I dislike intensely the refrigerator I chose, it was my choice, and I admit to having made a poor one.

However, the stove, which is self-cleaning, convection model, has never worked correctly. The very first time I used it the pane of glass in the door clouded up with smoke and every time I put on the self clean function it fills my home with billowing black smoke which requires that I take down all my curtains and wash them.

I am required to open all doors and windows and direct a fan at the closest window, in addition to the range hood fan, and still this is not enough.

I have had the repair man to the house a number of times at my own expense because the store where I purchased the appliances was less than kind to say the least, likely due to the number of calls concerning these poor products.

Last month I bought a new washer and dryer, which needless to say are not Kitchen Aid, and tomorrow I plan to buy a new dishwasher which will assuredly NOT be Kitchen Aid.

I am at a loss to understand how this company remains in business when it does not stand by its products. Surely consumer complaints such as this merit some response.
