2000 Ford Explorer XLT Freak Accident:

Got out of driver's side door of running vehicle parked in level garage. Walked around driver's side door that was left open and THEN the car started to roll backwards! Must have slipped into reverse from park or in-between gears (if possible to be in-between).

Could not have walked around open door if car was in reverse because auto transmission in reverse immediately starts car rolling on level surface. Has this happened to anyone else? Could be deadly. Over $5,000 damage to car estimated by insurance adjuster. Plus damage to garage.
